2003 wurde der Maler Jörg Immendorff mit einer strafbaren Menge Kokain und neun teils minderjährigen Prostituierten im Steigenberger Parkhotel ertappt. Im Prozess gegen den damals schon todkranken Mann kam heraus, dass er 27 solcher Partys gefeiert hatte. Er war da schon gezeichnet von einem unheilbaren Nervenleiden und kam, auch wegen seiner Krankheit, mit einer milden Strafe davon. Drei Jahre später starb er. Der Fall erregte damals enormes Aufsehen.
