Wenn Christoph Fritz seine Mutter trifft, schütteln sie sich zur Begrüßung die Hände. Manchmal verzehrt er sich so sehr nach Nähe, dass er sich über den Erhalt von Spammails freut oder die an den Vorvormieter adressierten Briefe. Da man auf Spammails aber nicht antworten sollte und das heimliche Öffnen von fremden Briefen über Wasserdampf bekanntlich auch keine Dauerlösung darstellt, begibt er sich auf die Suche nach Intimität, die er an Orten findet, an denen er sie nicht vermutet hätte. So werden eine abgelegene Straße in Frankreich, ein nächtlicher niederösterreichischer Garten oder die Ordination eines Urologen zu Schauplätzen unverhoffter Zärtlichkeit.
