Kein anderer Name war in der Düsseldorfer Immobilien-Szene der letzten Jahre so präsent wie Uwe Reppegather. Der Mann kaufte sich nach und nach ein Sammelsurium von Häusern an der Königsallee, weil er dort eine Shopping-Mall der Superlative bauen wollte – den „Calatrava-Boulevard“, benannt nach dem spanischen Architekten Santiago Calatrava. Aber mitten in der Planung schlidderte Reppegather in die Pleite. Wenige Monate später war er wieder da. Und erneut waren ihm die Schlagzeilen sicher, weil er die Wiederbelebung seiner Firma Centrum mit erstaunlichen Kniffen geschafft hatte. Doch da war offenbar einiges nicht so ganz im Sinne des Gesetzgebers. Reppegather wurde im März in seinem Haus auf Ibiza verhaftet. Zeitgleich liefen Razzien in seinen Adressen in mehreren Ländern und bei ihm daheim in Düsseldorf. Danach kam er in Untersuchungshaft.
Die beiden Düsseldorfer Journalisten Christian Herrendorf und Hans Onkelbach erzählen den Fall dieses Baulöwen, der als Türsteher vor Clubs begann und am Ende Milliarden Euro bewegte. Nicht nur in Düsseldorf.
