Mr. Leu Waits ist eine Ode an die Verrückten, die Freigeister und Desperados, die in den Zwischenwelten der verlorenen Seelen ihre Zuflucht finden. Dabei singt Mr. Leu mit einer Stimme, die keine Grenzen zu kennen scheint, vom verlorenen Glück, das sich in einer Mondnacht wieder findet in einem unschuldigen Traum. Er gibt den Narren, spielt exzessiv oder beiläufig Piano, torpediert dabei komische Momente mit düsteren Metaphern und herzzerreißenden Melodien. Er singt die bildstarken Texte von Tom Waits im englischen Original oder hat sie pointiert ins Deutsche übertragen und trifft damit unvermittelt direkt ins Herz. Musikgenres lösen sich bei Mr. Leu auf, als hätte es sie nie gegeben und verschmelzen in einer einzigen Flut von Klängen, Rhythmen und purer Energie.
